The Culture
Demographics (Optional): 55% Female, 45% male // 95% white, 5% people of color
The best thing about working at Avid4 Adventure is: We meet and treat everyone as unique individuals. We have great benefits and perks for all staff, but we also work to make every job the best job ever specifically for each individual.
When we’re not working, we’re: Outside - rock climbing, paddling, biking, or hiking.
What we’re reading: Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman, Daring Greatly by Brené Brown, Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey, Fifty Classic Climbs of North America by Steve Roper and Allen Steck.
What we’re listening to: A lot of NPR. Also, Brandi Carlisle, Lake Street Dive, Elephant Revival, and the singer-songwriter playing at the local coffee shop.
If they made a movie about our workplace, it would be called: “Remote Work Revolution: Where is everyone and how are they getting so much done?”
Inclusion in the outdoors matters because: We believe that accessing the outdoors and engaging in healthy activity in the outdoors are not only rights for all people, but also significant benefits to all people and communities. To support access and to realize its benefits, the outdoors must be a welcoming space for all.
Five years down the line, it’s our hope that: Our full-time and seasonal staff are fully representative of the communities in which we operate. We also hope that there are many more training programs and professional development opportunities that directly support the continued diversification of the outdoors.
