Why?
Our Goal
At heart, we’re storytellers, tapping into the American tradition of building community around stewardship and enjoyment of green spaces. If you spend time outdoors then you know just how important it is to protect and safeguard our public lands. Yet people of color and other historically marginalized communities have long been underrepresented in the outdoors industry and its advertising campaigns, despite our undeniable purchasing power.
Our goal is to disrupt traditional narratives of who is active in the outdoors in favor of more inclusive, richer snapshots of outdoor recreation in the United States. Let’s tell the entire story. Let's celebrate all the colors, genders, body types, and communities enjoying the outdoors. All are welcome in our movement; check out our page on Allyship to see how you can get involved. Donate to coalition member organizations, post an internship, or even write your favorite brands to ask them to diversify their brand ambassadors and marketing efforts.
